What investments can I make?

 
  • commercial energy efficiency investments in equipment, systems and processes that reduce electricity and/or fuel consumption
  • “Small Scale” renewable energy investments involving the purchase and installation of equipment, systems and processes that use renewable energy resources
  • investments in the thermal rehabilitation of buildings and/or renewable energy in the building
  • investment for business development of companies providing energy efficiency or renewable energy services
 
Examples of eligible investments:
 
  • Improvement of processes - leading to reductions in production costs  
  • Rehabilitation of buildings - insulation of walls, roof/terrace, thermopane glass windows
  • Electrical equipment - electric engines, variable speed drives, energy management systems 
  • Machines - compressors, tractors, agricultural equipment
  • Lighting  - Class “A” lighting systems, LED, light tubes 
  • Renewable - solar hot water panels, biomass, biogas, micro-hydro systems
  • Heat pumps 
  • Boilers – or burners, infrared radiant panels
  • Cogeneration or trigeneration
                                         
What is the maximum amount of the credit?
 
The maximum amount of the credit is € 1 million and may be granted for a period between 12 months and 120 months.
The reimbursement of the credit may be made by monthly or quarterly instalments.
 
What happens with successfully completed projects?
 
Successfully completed projects receive financial incentives (grants) from EU allocations. The value thereof reaches 10% -15% of the credit amount.
The amounts received from the European Union as grants may be also used for the early reimbursement of the credit.
Project eligibility is determined by specialised EBRD consultants.

What are the advantages of project financing by the EBRD energy efficiency credit?

 
In addition to the convenient cost compared to a standard investment loan, you get an EBRD grant of up 15% upon completion of the project and significant energy savings.

When you decide on the financing of an energy efficiency project by BRD, our adviser will direct you to the specialised EBRD consultant who will assist you in contracting the credit and implementing the project.
