PAYER MANIPULATION

DIFFERENT BANK
ACCOUNT?

How to protect yourself in 3 steps when transferring money to a supplier.

Use a strong secret password on your email.

Protect yourself against fraudsters who want to gain access to the emails exchanged between you and a business partner.

Check the account change with the business partner through a different communication channel (telephone).

Often, if they gain access to your email, fraudsters claim payment should be made to another account and send you an invoice that looks genuine.

Report immediately the fraud if you are a victim.

Fraud can be identified belatedly, when the actual supplier alerts the buyer that they have not yet received payment for the goods/services provided.
